six-headed multi-pitch density
scylla is a six-headed multi-pitch density effect. 24 voices (6 pitch layers x 4 voices each) gated by randomized density control. chord spread is hardcoded to: 0, -12, +12, -24, -36, -12 semitones.
toggle modes
hunger
controls voice count and gate aggressiveness:
- patient: 1 voice per layer (6 total), sparse texture
- default: 4 voices per layer (24 total), balanced
- ravenous: 4 voices per layer, boosted gate threshold, dense and aggressive
hunting style
controls gate noise correlation across voices:
- coordinated: all voices in a layer open/close in unison, rhythmic
- default: each voice has independent random gating
- pack: voices paired (0&1, 2&3 share gate noise), clustered activity
catch & release
controls gate envelope shape:
- default: smooth gating with standard lag
- devour: slow release (0.25x decay rate), voices linger before closing
- snap: instant attack, fast release, percussive gating
footswitch
dive (footswitch 1, momentary): sweeps interval down toward -24 semitones while held at ~48 semitones/second. ramps back to knob position on release.
